2026-08-25 — the hover ring came back gold-cored, consistently, and was kept

style.yaml declares hover: '#4ac8ff' and the positive says "THREE FLAT CONCENTRIC CYAN ELLIPSES". Every one of the six came back as cyan rings with a gold core — a deviation from the declared palette.

Kept, because it is consistent and it is better. All six states carry the same treatment, which is the only property this lane actually protects: the contract here is sameness across states, not fidelity to a hex. And the gold ties the hover to docade's ticket gold #ffb020, which is the currency the robot helps a child earn.

What @2 should do: declare it. hover: cyan rings, gold core — because the next render against a style that says plain cyan will produce plain cyan, and the six on disk will then be the odd ones out. A deviation that is approved is no longer a deviation; it is the contract, and leaving it undeclared means the next pass silently reverts it.

Worth separating from the failure it resembles: this is not drift. Drift is six renders disagreeing with each other. This is six renders agreeing with each other and disagreeing with the sheet — which is a sheet that needs updating, not art that needs re-running.
